Veterinarian (STJ / STT / BVI)
Dr. Laura graduated cum laude from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Her first few years of veterinary practice were as an equine veterinarian at the racetracks around New York City. In 1998, she relocated to St. John USVI and opened the first Canines, Cats & Critters which was the first veterinary clinic based on St John. Over the past 20 years, the clinic expanded to Tortola BVI and St Thomas USVI.
Dr. Laura's specialties include advanced surgeries, with an emphasis on orthopedic surgery and equine medicine. Dr Laura is the President of the USVI Veterinary Board and a member of the USVI Horse Racing Commission.
Dr Nikkea returns to the sun after qualifying as a Veterinary Surgeon from the prestigious Royal Dick Vet School, Edinburgh, and then working in the UK for some years after her graduation.
“Growing up in the BVI I developed a love for all animals early on. It started with me trying (and failing) to convince my mother that the snakes I caught in the garden would make good pets. That love saw me through the completion of my Zoology degree in Manchester, England, and then a Veterinary degree In Edinburgh, Scotland.
It is wonderful to be back home now, working as a vet.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, with a bit of jewellery making now and then!"
Dr Molly graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in London in 2007. She first started her veterinary career as a primarily all-equine vet and her love of horses started very early on and grew as she rode throughout high school, college and vet school.
She transitioned to a small animal practice a few years ago in Baltimore, Maryland and has acquired has an affinity for old dogs. Her dog Zoey is a 13 year old lady that has really taken to island life and loves walking on the beach- as long as the water does not actually touch her! She also owns an older, sassy polo pony that is living her best retirement life back in Maryland.
